JOB SUMMARY:

In 2024, Think Together completed a 5-year impact strategic plan that identifies a set of conditions for equity driven school systems required to achieve the organization’s vision. Think Together is leveraging its expanded learning core business to build a flywheel powered by innovation and technology. Initiatives in Think’s Impact Portfolio will enable the organization to test, learn and demonstrate what it takes to build the conditions of equity-driven school systems at scale.
We’re looking for a UI/UX Product Designer with a strong product mindset and user interface design skills to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing user-centered interfaces that enhance learning experiences for diverse audiences. Your work will directly impact how educational content and AI tools facilitate meaningful engagement and drive impact.


This is a hands-on role ideal for a designer who thrives in cross-functional environments. You’ll collaborate deeply with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders across the product lifecycle—from user research and discovery to design system development and high-fidelity UI delivery. You won’t just make things look good— you’ll help define what we build and why, grounding all decisions in user insight and product outcomes. You should be highly functional in both UX and UI, able to balance clarity, usability, and modern interface craft. If you can bring structure to ambiguity, test ideas quickly, and advocate for accessible, intuitive experiences, we want to hear from you.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Apply strong interaction and visual design principles to develop intuitive user experiences
• Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and cohesion across products
• Partner closely with product managers and engineers throughout discovery, definition, and delivery phases
• Lead and participate in user research activities to understand pain points and identify opportunities
• Create journey maps, user flows, low-fidelity wireframes, and high-fidelity UI designs and prototypes
• Validate design solutions through user testing, stakeholder feedback, and iteration
• Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design for a wide range of users (students, families, educators, administrators)
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure design quality and feasibility through to launch

• Effectively present and communicate design decisions across the team and organization
• Bring a curious, growth-oriented mindset to a fast-moving, impact-driven environment.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in AI, educational technology, and user experience best practices.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience designing digital products in a collaborative, cross-functional setting
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates user-centered thinking, UI/UX design skill, and strategic impact
• Fluency with Figma (preferred), Sketch, or similar tools, including component and prototyping workflows
• Experience designing for responsive web and/or mobile apps with modern UX patterns
• Strong understanding of product discovery, agile workflows, and iterative design
• Experience planning and conducting usability tests or gathering user feedback
• Comfortable working with engineers and balancing technical constraints with user and business needs
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design thinking to diverse audiences
• Commitment to equity, access, and designing products that make a difference for all learners


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must adhere to all policies and procedure of Think Together
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong facilitation and project management skills
• Ability to provide a high level of support/guidance to staff and field as needed
• Ability to carry out assignments independently with good time management skills
• Interest in taking on new initiatives
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at the same time to completion on a timely basis
• Must maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality

COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Adobe
• File Management (One Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc.) • Email, Internet, website, and social media platforms.
• Use of typical office equipment

PHYSICAL/WORK ENVIRONMENT DEMANDS:
• Moderate Noise (examples: typical office noise)
• Stand, Walk, Sit (in general office environment)
• Computer Screen visual in performance of role
• Lift up to 10 pounds
• Travel up to 10-20%

 

COMPENSATION:  

Salary Range $140K-$150K

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
