JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Internal Communications is responsible for employee communications across our state-wide organization, to inform, engage and appreciate our Think Together staff. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Marketing & Communications, the Director, Internal Communications is a highly collaborative leader for Think Together and will work with a variety of teams to ensure employee communications are relevant, timely, accurate, and align with Think Together’s vision, mission, and brand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, execute and implement marketing strategies for Think Together internal communication needs.
• Interface with senior leadership to craft and implement organization-wide communications plans, including aligning messaging goals, creating talking points, and advising on channels to reach across a complex and geographically distributed organization
• Create strategy and frameworks for how Think Together shares and cascades information while driving workflow, efficiencies, and information-sharing
• Direct and maintain ongoing internal communications content calendar and tactics, including campaigns, newsletters, video, email messaging, intranet, etc.
• Lead and/or collaborate on the planning and execution of internal meetings, including monthly Home Office meetings, town halls, leadership meetings, and more
• Create strategies, plans and messaging for organizational change and other critical announcements. Devise FAQs and two-way communication channels to gather and respond to staff feedback or questions
• Define and track OKRs and metrics for the successful execution and measurement of the internal communications strategies
• Stay up to date on internal communications best practices and test new ideas to keep Think Together on the forefront of employee communications
• As part of the marketing and communications team, work collaboratively with external communications, marketing and other marcomm teams to ensure that synergies are identified and maximized between campaigns and messages
• Supervises a team of two internal communications professionals
• This role is hybrid, with approximately 5-10% of the month required in-person in the Santa Ana office, Think Together regional offices, or off-site locations in Southern California.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate or internal communications or employee experience/relations, preferably in a high-growth environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or proven work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• A track record of culture leadership in a large organization
• Experience working with C-suite and senior leadership
• Skill in developing and carrying out strategic communications plans, including aligning goals across a complex organization
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams; empathetic and understanding of the needs of diverse audiences
• Experience planning and executing events, both in-person and virtual
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on style, with an eye toward action and improvement
• Ability to balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment
• Strong writing and editing skills a must. Writing samples will be requested

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Position is hybrid based in Santa Ana. Will be required to attend periodic in-office meetings.
• Will be required to occasionally travel to regional offices and school sites, primarily in Southern California
• Writing and campaign samples will be requested.

 

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary Range $100K-$110K

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
