JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Program and Operations, will organize and coordinate the implementation of educational and training programs involving Think Together staff and Home Child Care Environment providers. The Early Learning Education Manager supervises the Education Specialists and is responsible for assuring compliance with State and Federal and local program requirements. The Education Manager ensures adherence to organization and program policies, standards and procedures and works as part of the integrated management team for the Early Childhood Education program.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of early childhood education, curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, and research related to the learning of young children
• Serve as an educational leader who implements and evaluates a high-quality early childhood education program
• Design, track, and monitor the education content area activities to ensure delivery of quality services in compliance with, state, federal, and local regulations, and standards
• Direct, supervise, train, and conduct timely performance evaluations of the early learning education specialists and prepare individual staff development plans
• Develop written policies and procedures and provide training and technical assistance to staff and providers on how to implement program processes
• Responsible for on-going monitoring and follow-up to correct any identified areas of noncompliance and concern for enrollment activities
• Ensure compliance with funding compliance and best practices in, but not limited to, the Desired Result Developmental Profile (“DRDP”), Environmental Rating Scale, Teacher Child Interactions and Licensing
• Engage in the promotion of staff development and continuous learning through training, observation, and coaching
• Monitor and Enroll Family Child Care providers in the program and assist potential providers to become licensed
• Review provider and child files, conduct classroom observations, home-based visits, and socializations observations to promote developmentally appropriate practices, quality teacher-child interactions, and healthy and safe learning environments
• Maintain appropriate licensing records including qualifications, immunizations, provider credentials and renewal of credentials
• Monitor staff professional growth hours and ensure staff have completed required training sessions
• Prepare and review program data to monitor the completion of quality assessments, environmental rating scale, DRDP, and other child/family/program activities and outcomes
• Assist with the preparation of management reports that show progress toward program goals and other funding terms and requirements
• Participate in team meetings and planning sessions to ensure informed coordination of educational goals and objectives
• Participate in the planning and implementation of the yearly Program Self-Assessment
• Maintain QA on all of the ECE databases and provide technical assistance
• Submit monthly status reports of all activities conducted during the month and monitoring reports, which include deficiencies found and action taken
• Travel to Family Child Care Homes in the outlying areas as assigned
• Attend meetings, conferences and workshops as assigned
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to information and records concerning children, families, provider, and staff
• All other duties as assigned

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively participate with ideas and feedback during planning sessions geared towards the review and development of program plans
• Purchase preapproved program supplies and materials as needed abiding by all Think Together set policies and procedures
• Maintain ongoing communication with providers and parents to obtain information to better serve families and maintain program quality. This includes but is not limited to parent conferences, the distribution of programmatic materials and event announcements
• Encourage providers, parents to attend and participate in workshops, meetings, and advisory committees
• Actively link providers, parents/families and support them in their interaction with outside services as provided by ELP leadership staff
• Facilitate workshops on early literacy strategies for staff, providers and parents as needed
• Maintain accurate/detailed records, facilitate meetings, and documentation
• Act as a role model for the communities/sites assigned, fostering professionalism and leadership qualities while always upholding Think Together’s mission and values in positive regard
• Maintain compliance with Think Together policies and procedures
• Participate in Think Together trainings and meetings as requested; May be required to facilitate workshops
• Nurtures and builds strong relationships with volunteers to develop good communication for accountability and long-term commitment to volunteering
• Implements other human resource policies and procedures
• Attends regularly scheduled meetings and other meetings and trainings as requested
• Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
• Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings and events
• Must be willing to travel for conferences and trainings

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• BA in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or related field required; MA preferred
• Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the Department of Education- • At least 3 years classroom experience working with 0 – 5 years old
• 5 years in leadership or staff development position; leadership experience in early child development educational field desirable
• Prior experience in conducting trainings and workshops required
• Ability to work well with people and a sensitivity to the needs of children and families
• Computer skills and knowledge of Windows Excel and Word at an intermediate or advanced level
• Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively
• A California Driver's License, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance
• Must pass background check
• TB test clearance to be renewed every two years
• Current certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid
• Comply with immunization, background check standards and other required screenings as mandated by Human Resources
• Bi literate in Spanish is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams
• Internet software
• E-mail

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary Range $70K-$80K

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
