JOB SUMMARY:
Think Together is a California nonprofit that partners with schools to change the odds for kids. Founded in 1997, Think Together operates the greatest number of expanded learning programs across California, serving ~100K students, and is home to a suite of additional programs that aim to drive systemic change across California’s school systems. Leadership for Student Success (LSS) is a new initiative incubated within Think Together, created to support public education system leaders – Superintendents and School Boards – to excel in their roles and create lasting, statewide impact. LSS will provide a set of programmatic offerings, including cohort trainings, executive coaching, and board governance support, for future superintendents, current superintendents, and their school board members. With an ambitious goal to reach a quarter of all school districts in California within the next three years, LSS is looking for a program operations leader to work closely with the Senior Director of Business Operations to launch and grow the initiative.


The Business Operations Coordinator is a newly created position that will provide high-level administrative, operational, and project support to the Senior Director of Business Operations for LSS. This position will serve as a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, coordinating communications, supporting financial management activities, managing logistics for program delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative & Operations Support
• Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Senior Director across all service offerings, including cohort-based training programs, executive coaching, board governance services, and any further service offerings.
• Assist in developing and maintaining operational processes, tools and workflows that support the launch, delivery, and scaling of LSS’s programs in alignment with the business plan and strategic goals.
• Support tracking of KPIs, OKRs, key deadlines, and deliverables to ensure programs stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication between LSS program staff and Think Together support teams to ensure timely delivery of support services.
• Assist in the creation and distribution of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison to external partners, ensuring smooth communication and follow-up on commitments and deliverables.

Financial & Contract Support
• Assist with preparation of program-related budget materials, expense reporting and tracking, and periodic budget reviews with leadership.
• Track proposals, contracts and agreements with districts, vendors, and consultants, ensuring all deliverables are met.
• Process invoices and monitor payment timelines.

Program & Event Support
• Coordinate logistics for LSS events, trainings, and meetings (both virtual and in-person).
• Manage participant experience, registration, communication and follow-up.
• Support data collection, surveys, and reporting related to program outcomes. Special Projects
• Assist with research, analysis and development of dashboards and other tools to track performance metrics and goals.
• Support the Senior Director in developing new operational processes to improve efficiency and goal completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on organizational priorities and to support the successful launch and ongoing operations of LSS.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, education, or other related area.
• 2-4 years of relevant administrative, operations, or project coordinator experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, education or mission-driven organization, preferred.
• Familiarity with event coordination, budgeting and contract management, a plus.
• Must be willing to work evenings or weekends to support delivery of training to stakeholders as needed.
• Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings and events.

COMPUTER SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Passion for advancing public education and supporting educational leaders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Excellent communication, customer services and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and cloud-based collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, Salesforce, preferred).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and interpret data.

PHYSICAL/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Moderate Noise (examples: typical office noise)
• Stand, Walk, Sit (in general office environment)
• Computer Screen visual in performance of role
• Lift up to 10 pounds
• Travel up to 10-20%
• Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting), provide a clear TB test

 

COMPENSATION: 

  • Salary Range $70,000-$80,000

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
