Early Learning Education Coach
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and collaborative Education Coach to support preschool educators in implementing high-quality early childhood education practices. This role focuses on professional development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement to ensure optimal learning environments for children ages 3-5. The Education Coach will serve as a mentor and guide to teaching staff, helping to align classroom practices with developmentally appropriate standards, curriculum goals, and child outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide coaching to preschool teachers through one-on-one sessions, classroom observations, modeling, and feedback.
• Strong knowledge in implementing evidence-based curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Assist with planning and delivery of professional development and in-service training sessions.
• Use reflective supervision techniques to support teachers’ growth in understanding child development and instructional strategies.
• Facilitate the use of child assessment data to inform instruction and support individualized learning plans.
• Collaborate with program leadership to maintain program compliance with state requirements, and Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS).
• Guide teachers in creating inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed classrooms.
• Maintain accurate and confidential coaching logs, reports, and documentation.
• Support with community resources, and transitions to kindergarten.
• Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and professional excellence.
• Training teaching staff in areas of need and professional growth
• Support with family engagement component (Recruitment event, community events, PAC, parent orientation.)
• Support in classrooms as needed to maintain ratios.
• Attend workshops and trainings.
• Provide training on CLASS overview, CLASS Environment, ASQ screenings, and DRDP as well as health and safety environments. Ensure completeness of all developmental screenings.
• Participate in community outreach events and meetings.
• Maintain abreast of California Department of Education (CDE) changes and updates.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or related field (master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, coaching, and guiding staff and classroom teaching experience.
• Must possess a Child Development Program Director Permit (Commission on Teaching Credentialing)
• Proven experience in instructional coaching, mentoring, and teacher support.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum implementation, and assessment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse environments.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages).
• Must be CLASS and CLASS Environment Reliable
• Must be experienced in DRDP
• Must be experienced with screening tools: ASQ:SE ASQ-3 assessment tools
• Experience with QRIS
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and coaching models (e.g., Practice-Based Coaching, Reflective Practice).

PHYSICAL/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Moderate Noise (examples: typical office noise)
• Stand, Walk, Sit (in general office environment)
• Computer Screen visual in performance of role
• Lift up to 10 pounds
• Travel up to 10-20%
• Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting), provide a clear TB test. Regular travel to local preschool sites.
• Combination of office, classroom, and virtual environments.
• Must pass background check and meet state childcare licensing requirements.
Compensation: $30/hr.
