JOB SUMMARY:
The role of Facilities Technician is to ensure that the organization’s various offices, warehouse or storage areas and production rooms are consistently kept up and in order. Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments from the Home Office and assist any staff members with heavy lifting or maintenance projects as needed.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Arrange furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, activities and events.
• Supplement night cleaning crew activities by handling minor issues during the day to maintain a safe and attractive environment.
• Deliver/pick-up and distribute a variety of items (e.g. supplies, mail, packages, furniture, curriculum, kits, etc.) to the appropriate personnel/region/school site.
• Assemble/disassemble furniture and cubicles as needed.
• Inform supervisor regarding activities, safety and/or proper maintenance of facilities.
• Inform supervisor of safety hazards, work orders, requisitions, etc. for the purpose of documenting information.
• Inspect work areas to ensure safety and cleanliness and identify necessary repairs due to vandalism and wear and tear.
• Make minor repairs to furniture and equipment to ensure that items are available and in safe working condition.
• Set-up, take-down, and reorganizes office spaces, cubicle/workstations, meeting areas, and training rooms, as needed.
• Secure facilities to minimize property damage, loss and liability and to ensure safety at work sites.
• Maintain and organize storage facilities, disposing of outdated or unwanted materials.
• Assist with office relocations and required packing and unpacking.
• Use ladder to perform light changes, run cable, clean air vents, as needed.
• Use elevator or other equipment to move furniture, packages, and office equipment.
• Clean up spills, leaks, and janitorial requests, as needed.
• To perform all other related duties as assigned up to but not limited to: painting, replacing hardware, changing filters, and minor plumbing.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Utilize sound judgment in decision-making.
• Promptly and reliably carry out duties with a sense of initiative and attitude of professionalism.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to High School Diploma required.
• 1 to 2 years of experience with warehouse and maintenance duties preferred.
• Basic handyman experience highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to sit, squat, bend, twist, kneel, lift 50 lbs., frequently.
• Able to demonstrate a high degree of self-initiative.

• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to travel to off sites.
• Must pass Live Scan (fingerprinting), background check, and Tuberculosis test

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly Pay $23-$24

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
