JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Decision Support Services, this role works with the Technology teams and other key stakeholders in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions and strategies. The Data Engineer will ensure accuracy and consistency of raw data, develop data structures for data farming, analyze transformed data to validate its completeness and gather insight to impact business decisions. Additionally, the data engineer will handle ad hoc analysis requests. This will be a hybrid role.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs, implements, and maintains analytics infrastructure that supports automated data processes and streamlined data visualization and reports across the organization. Ensure the continuous delivery of actionable insights by automating workflows and dashboards.
• Enforces Master Data Management and Data Governance policies to ensure data quality, compliance, and ethical usage.
• Continuously monitors and fine-tunes analytics platforms for optimal performance. Implements best practices to improve query performance, reduce latency, and ensure seamless user experience.
• Leads the administration, configuration, and optimization of Power BI, Tableau, and other analytics platforms to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability for enterprise wide reporting and data visualization needs.
• Oversee ingestion pipelines and troubleshoots errors related to data. Resolve errors using approved data cleaning techniques.
• Establishes and maintains departmental communications to understand business activities, drivers, requirements, solutions strategies, and alternatives.
• Ensures data models align with business objectives.
• Translate complex data analysis into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and strategic decision-making.
• Develops and maintains solid relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Document analysis methodologies, assumptions, and findings for future reference and replication.
• Requires an individual to maintain the ability to work in an environment with PII data.
• Leverages industry standards and frameworks to guide reliability, scalability, security, and integration decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
• Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency, and metadata.
• Detailed written, verbal, and collaborative skills.
• Proven technical leadership or management experience in areas of data engineering, analytics engineering, or data infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and medallion architecture.
• 3-5 years of experience with data warehousing and ELT (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Synapse) and with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power
BI).
• 3-5 years of experience collaborating with stakeholders establish business goals, metrics, and requirements and translating them into business analysis solutions.
• Must be able to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
• Prior experience in education or in the non-profit sector is highly preferred.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS:
• Must pass Live Scan (Criminal Background Check via fingerprinting).
• Provide and maintain a clear TB test throughout employment.
 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary Range $90,000-$95,000

 This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
