JOB SUMMARY:
Technology Infrastructure (TI) is the largely invisible back office of all technology, software, hardware (Routers), networks (Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN), integration tools such as application programming interfaces (API), and all other resources used to support, host, and run IT systems. Technology infrastructure is the foundation that supports the technology and digital systems we use every day. Importantly, TI enables devices such as, smartphones, computers, and tablets, to connect to the internet and access applications and websites. Whether through a physical connection or wirelessly. The Technology Infrastructure Inventory Technician (TIIT) plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the organization’s Technology assets across their entire lifecycle. This includes tracking, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of hardware, software, and licenses. The TIIT works to ensure the accuracy of asset records, optimize asset utilization, maintain compliance, and support operational efficiency. The position involves direct interaction with various teams to manage requests, assist with technical support, and ensure the proper deployment and management of technology resources. The Technology Infrastructure Inventory Technician (TIIT) – reports to the Technology Infrastructure Inventory Manager (TIIM). The TIIT is responsible for supporting the management of the organization’s IT asset inventory, ensuring assets are properly tracked, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with company policies. This role involves working with IT teams to manage procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management, while also ensuring that assets are compliant with security standards and regulatory requirements. The TIIT will assist in asset management processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining inventory documentation and reporting. The TIIT collaborates with the Technology Infrastructure Inventory Manager (TIIM), Technology support teams, and vendors to ensure that inventory processes are efficient, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inventory Management: Track and maintain accurate records of all Technology assets, including hardware (e.g., computers, servers, network devices, peripherals) and software licenses. Perform regular physical audits to verify asset presence and condition, ensuring the inventory system matches actual stock. Label and tag new equipment, and update asset records in the asset management system. Manage the disposal process of obsolete or damaged assets, ensuring proper data wiping and compliance with environmental disposal standards.
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the deployment of Technology assets, ensuring proper setup and configuration for end-user use. Collaborate with Helpdesk Technicians to ensure assets are deployed in a timely and efficient manner. Provide ongoing support for hardware and software maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades. Manage the return, redistribution, or disposal of assets at the end of their lifecycle.
• Procurement & Deployment: Assist with procurement activities, including requesting quotes, purchasing, receiving, and coordinating the delivery of Technology hardware and software. Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and services, including warranty and repair coordination. Ensure timely distribution of assets to employees, maintaining records of asset assignments and returns.
• Imaging & Integration: Manage the imaging and deployment of computers and devices across the organization, ensuring integration with Microsoft Intune for asset management and security compliance. Work closely with Technology teams to ensure that all systems are properly configured, secure, and compliant with organizational policies.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems in a timely manner. Assist employees with technical inquiries related to assets, configurations, and asset-related requests. Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer peripherals (monitors, printers, etc.) and software applications.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and update documentation for asset management processes, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all records. Generate and present regular reports on asset status, lifecycle events, inventory levels, and any discrepancies for management review.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure all Technology assets comply with organizational security protocols and best practices to protect sensitive data. Work with the Information Security team to ensure all assets meet relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Follow proper procedures to secure and dispose of assets in accordance with organizational security policies.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, to manage invoice coding, recurring billing, and credit card reconciliation related to IT assets. Work with the Technology Infrastructure Inventory Manager and other teams to forecast and plan for technology asset needs. Provide excellent customer service and maintain open communication with end-users regarding asset-related requests.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in technology asset management, inventory control, or a related field.
• Experience with asset management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Freshservice, ServiceNow, or similar platforms) is preferred.
• Experience in technical support or IT-related roles is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of IT asset management principles, including procurement, lifecycle management, and disposal processes.
• Proficiency with Windows and MacOS operating systems; familiarity with Linux and mobile operating systems (iOS, Android) is a plus.
• Knowledge of software applications like Microsoft Office Suite and ITSM tools (e.g., Freshservice, Jira, Zendesk)
• Familiarity with imaging and deployment tools, including MS Intune for asset management.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to manage and prioritize user requests effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Inventory Management Software: Experience with inventory management tools and software for tracking and reporting.
• Operating Systems: Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.
• Data Analysis: Ability to work with data and generate basic reports on inventory status and lifecycle events.
• Customer Service Tools: Experience using ITSM ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice, Jira, or similar platforms).
BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS:
• Must pass Live Scan (Criminal Background Check via fingerprinting).
• Provide and maintain a clear TB test throughout employment.
