JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Education Manager, the Early Learning Partner Educator is responsible for supporting and ensuring Family Child Care Home Education Network (“FCCHEN”) compliance with California Department of Social Services, Early Education and Support Division, and Licensing regulations. The Early learning Partner Educator will observe and assess children using the Desired Result Developmental Profile (“DRDP”) and will conduct Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale assessments to support providers with creating program activities that address the developmental needs of children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with providers in developing an environment conducive to learning.
• Conduct ongoing site visits and monitor for program compliance.
• Assist and support providers with problem solving as needed.
• Develop and maintain accurate child and provider records for program compliance.
• Complete the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) assessment and write observations for each child
• Create and maintain files and database up to date for program compliance.
• Complete an Environmental Rating Scale for providers and develop an action plan to support provider for quality improvement.
• Ensure age-appropriate curricula activities are being implemented in the areas of cognitive, physical, social emotional growth of all children.
• Monitor and support provider with developing developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents to obtain information to better serve families and maintain program quality.
• Conduct ongoing on-site health and safety monitoring visits to each Family Child Care Home; includes visiting at opening and closing hours to ensure compliance with sign in/out procedures and health and safety regulations.
• Encourage providers and parents to participate in program planned trainings/workshops for professional development and to enhance parenting skills.
• Monitor the nutritional programs being administered at all Family Child Care Homes to ensure the program is in compliance with the State of California Food and Nutrition Program.
• Travel to Family Child Care Homes in the areas assigned. • Attend meetings, conferences and workshops as assign.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• 12 units Early Childhood education/Child Development or more required.
• Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher is preferred.
• At least 1 to 2 years’ experience working with children ages 0-5 in a classroom or childcare home environment.
• Experience in conducting student observations, completing developmental assessments (DRDP) and Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS) or willing to learn.
• Ability to work well with people and demonstrate a sensitivity to the needs of children and families.
• Computer skills and knowledge of Windows, Excel and Word at an intermediate or advanced level.
• Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively.
• A California Driver's License, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance
• Must pass background check
• TB test clearance to be renewed every two years.
• Current certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid
• Comply with immunization, background check standards and other required screenings as mandated by Human Resources
• Bi literate in Spanish is required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain highest degree of confidentiality.
• Comply with organization policies and follow procedures.
• Actively participate with ideas and feedback during planning sessions geared toward the review and development of program plans.
• Encourage parents and providers to attend and participate in workshops, meetings and advisory committees.
• Actively link providers, parents/families and support them in their interaction with community services as provided by ELP leadership staff
• Serve as a role model for the communities/sites assigned, fostering professionalism and leadership while always upholding Think Together’s mission and values in positive regard.
• Maintain compliance with Think Together’s policies and procedures.
• Participate and support in Think Together trainings and meetings as needed. • Implements other human resource policies and procedures
• Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
• Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings, conferences, events, and provider’s childcare site.
• Submit educational service reports monthly or as requested by supervisor.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams
• Strong proficiency in the use of Excel, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional skills with MS Excel, data organization, and MS PowerPoint presentation.
Salary: $23.00/hr
