JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CDO and managing a team of technical and functional specialist positions and roles, this role is a Functional Excellence thought leader within Think Together who works with the Technology teams and other key stakeholders to align and deliver on the Technology and business strategic agenda. Role is accountable for providing leadership and expert advice to create and implement Functional Excellence (FE) within the Think Together technology teams. The Technology operating model consists of three structures: Technology Service Delivery, Business Partnering and Functional Excellence (FE). The role will be responsible for efficiency and effectiveness of the overall technology function, meeting targeted performance standard levels.

The role will lead all Technology Cyber Security and Compliance, Strategy and Governance, Enterprise Architecture and will work in close partnership across functional teams and/or initiatives to include Strategic Projects, Project Excellence, as well as Human Capital Talent & Workforce Planning and Organizational Change Management and Quality Assurance & Technology Performance Analysis. The role directs the definition of goals, planning and leads a best-in-class technology model. The role effectively builds the functional strategies, priorities, plans, policies, processes, standards, methods, and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Leadership:
• Working with the CDO as an integral member of the Technology leadership team, contributes to the development and execution of the group’s long range and annual plan, department plans, budgets, and corporate reports.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to the CDO for all functional Technology excellence matters. In close collaboration with the CDO, enables Think Together to achieve maximum mission results through leveraging technology and developing strategic solutions to differentiate Think Together and provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Leads as a Think Together Technology Executive and acts as a thought leader and respected subject matter expert across the organization. Ensures the alignment of Technology objectives with that of Think Together as a whole.
• Demonstrates leadership role model behavior to the overall mission of Think Together, and to external stakeholders such as vendors and partners.
• Leads and contributes as requested on strategic initiatives, committees and projects that advance the Think Togethers mission.
• Develops and drives the framework, philosophy, and programs for Functional Excellence in partnership with the Technology business partners and Technology service leaders.
Communications and Stakeholder Relations:
• Ensures effective communication networks and working relationships within and external to the organization to ensure a seamless interface of systems, within Think Together and when integrating with Partners.
• Is sought for expert technology Functional Excellence advice by the CDO, the Technology team and by the leadership of Think Together as a whole.
Human Resources Leadership Partnerships:
• In alignment with Human Capital Leadership related programs, plans for capacity and succession planning by leading functional, technological, and business review analysis that includes human resource capacity, and financial and technological options.
• Ensures the effective direction, role clarity and performance of all staff including recruitment and selection, performance management, training and development, mentoring, and safety and wellness.
• Provides effective leadership to the team and builds a strong customer service culture across the organization.

Budgeting:
• Accountable for the preparation of capital and operating budgets and for ensuring approved budget targets are managed, risk is assessed and that projects are delivered on-time and under budget.
• Assures appropriate accounting treatment and reporting for project costs and value creation targets.
Security and Compliance:
• Leads the integration of information security as a key component of the corporate culture and sets the information security and compliance strategic direction for all technology platforms and business units. Establishes and implements the company’s security program.
• Keeps the CDO informed of the general status of Security and Compliance and of any issues that might affect the company’s financial or reputational health.
• Leads the development of Think Togethers data privacy and disaster recovery plans.
• Leads compliance with the development and management of the security policy, standards, procedures, and guidelines to prevent the unauthorized use, release, modification, or destruction of data across the organization.

Strategy and Governance:
• Works closely with the CDO, and the business stakeholders to research, identify, analyze, and assess business needs in response to operational goals and objectives. With this information, and in collaboration develops the Technology strategic plan including key milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
• Ensures the Functional Excellence objectives align with those of Technology and the overall organizational goals.
• Within the strategic plan, develops technology and systems strategies and frameworks that consider the needs of the business that support both short- and long-term internal customer priorities.

Project Excellence:
• Supports Project Excellence with a common set of governance, processes, standards, tools, techniques, quality assurance and institutionalizes continuous improvement of each.
• Ensures that Project Excellence initiatives are effectively managing four important areas of risk: Cost & Scheduling, Technical Risk (sustainable and operating), Business Disruption and Value Risk.
• Monitors the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Ensures the establishment of a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of all projects.
• Reviews the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that Technology meets the project standards.

Enterprise Architecture
• Provides holistic oversight and consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to develop the road map to guide Think Together through the business, information, process, and technology changes necessary to execute its strategies.
• Leads the documentation and development of in-depth knowledge of all existing Technology systems, architecture/infrastructure, and the technology portfolio of the Organization.
• Leads the development, documentation, communication, and enforcement of a technology standards policy.
Organizational Change Management
• In close partnership with Human Capital and Org Development Leadership, ensures that effective design and application of roles and organization structures that support the change agenda.
• Leads the change agenda by creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.
• Leads organizational transformation through the identification and application of models, processes, systems and technology.
Performance Analysis
• Ensures that both Technology and corresponding business goals are aligned and are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner.
• Leads the planning, identification, design, development, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of KPI’s, to monitor results and SLAs against their performance targets

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
• An undergraduate degree preferably in a discipline related to information technology or business. Additional technology education and a graduate level degree is highly desired.
• A designation such as PMP, CISSP, CRISC is highly preferred.
• Over ten (10) years of successful, progressive Technology leadership experience, at least five (5) at senior management levels.
• Role experience in succession levels adjacent to the CIO or CDO in an organization with parallels to Think Together.
• An expert in the leadership of a high performing Technology function including specific knowledge in the areas of security and compliance, strategy and governance, project management, enterprise architecture, organizational change, and performance management.
• A thorough understanding of security requirements of Education and nonprofits, ISO Certifications and Data Privacy laws.
• Ideally, has established an effective PMO and has experience in the implementation of major information systems.
• Has completed major projects on time and within acceptable financial parameters.
• Has demonstrated the ability to drive the functionality of the system and has taken an ROI approach to maximize business operational efficiency and financial results.
• Has built processes that are efficient, consistent, and scalable. Understands and has experience in business process reengineering.
 
Salary: $230,000-$250,000/yr
